Fancy mayo

Fancy mayo

0 Comments | Concord Monitor, Dec 12, 2007

Aioli is a super-simple garlic mayo that’s great with everything from veggies to steak to hard-boiled eggs. To make it, puree a garlic clove in a mortar and pestle, or use a garlic press, or mash it with the flat of a chef’s knife. Scrape it into a bowl, then add an egg yolk. Add a splash of vinegar and a pinch of salt. Slowly (slowly!) start drizzling in oil (while whisking continuously): first a drop at a time, then more quickly as it begins to thicken. Keep adding oil until you have the consistency you want. If it gets too thick (it will thicken as it sits), stir in a splash of water to thin it out

Virgin snaps up 40 aircraft making Airbus figures climb higher

PLANE manufacturer Airbus capped off a highly successful week at the Farnborough Airshow with a multi-billion order for 40 aircraft.

The firm, which employs 4,000 at its factory in Filton, has revealed that Virgin America is to buy 40 A320s in a deal worth an estimated $3.5 billion. The airline has said it will buy 40 of the aircraft up-front with options for 20 more aircraft.

The news come in a week when the company announced deals worth more than $10 billion at the industry’s annual gathering.

The new aircraft will be delivered from 2013 through 2016 – with 10 firm orders per year on average, and options for the 20 extra aircraft in 2017-2018.

David Cush, Virgin America president and chief executive, and John Leahy, Airbus chief operating officer, made the announcement of their memorandum of understanding at the airshow.

“This deal reflects confidence in our financial performance, business model and unique service. Despite the tough economic climate since our 2007 launch, Virgin America has experienced record growth, strong financial progress and a sweep of the major reader- based travel awards.

“At a time when most carriers are contracting and shedding jobs, we’re pleased to be growing and bringing our low-fare, innovative service into new markets,” said David Cush.

“The low operating costs, cabin comfort and carbon-efficient design of our all new Airbus fleet will continue to fuel our growth and success in the North American market.”

“A repeat order from Virgin America – a US airline growing quickly both in terms of its route network and its reputation for excellent service – is a great affirmation of the benefits of operating the A320 Family,” said John Leahy.

“We are very pleased they have chosen to expand their reach with even more of our aircraft. Their investment in a state-of-the-art, fuel-efficient Airbus fleet will continue to give them a competitive advantage as they grow.”

2C Processor USA Joins Intacct Partner Program

2C Processor USA Joins Intacct Partner Program

Market Wire, July, 2010

Intacct and 2C Processor USA (2CP) today announced a new partnership to deliver integrated credit card processing solutions for Intacct clients. 2CP provides a fully PCI compliant payment gateway along with merchant processing solutions that are now seamlessly integrated with the Intacct cloud financial management system. 2CP has also joined the Intacct-Ready Partner Program, which is designed to create an ecosystem of pre-integrated best of breed cloud-based applications for Intacct clients.

The integration between 2C Processor USA and Intacct enables joint customers to simplify billing and accounting functions related to credit card processing. With TPro from 2CP, all invoicing, credit card processing and recurring billing activities handled through 2CP automatically flow into the Intacct financial management system — streamlining financial processes and improving accuracy by reducing manual data re-entry. The integrated solution also supports companies with multiple business entities by allowing for more than one merchant account to be associated within 2CP’s TPro payment gateway.

The integrated solution also virtually eliminates the compliance headaches associated with the Payment Card Industry Data Security Standards (PCI DSS) — a set of requirements designed to ensure that all companies that process, store or transmit credit card information maintain a secure environment. TPro uses tokenization, enabling joint clients to store a random number associated with their customer’s sensitive credit card data, instead of the actual credit card number.

“We see the Intacct-Ready Partner Program as a great way to work closely with Intacct to provide an integrated solution that delivers tremendous value to joint clients,” said William Barber, chief operating officer at 2C Processor USA. “The integration between Intacct and 2CP enables joint clients to more easily coordinate their recurring billing, e-commerce payments, and much more. This is all about helping companies reduce payment processing costs while increasing their finance department’s efficiency. We know first-hand, as we are also an Intacct client and have seen the benefits of integrating our solutions.”

Intacct and 2C Processor already have several joint clients. For example, Fellowship Technologies, a leading provider of web-based church management software, is a long-time Intacct client that is in the process of implementing the integrated solution from 2CP.

“We are excited that Intacct and 2C Processor USA are working together,” said Allen Horak, CFO and vice president of finance at Fellowship Technologies. “We love using Intacct as our core financial management system, and we are looking forward to integrating it with TPro to eliminate the hassles of managing our credit card payment processing. That can be a very tedious, manual process and this integration will help us streamline those processes while also saving us money.”

2CP’s Real-Time Processing and Recurring-Billing Processing solutions are ideal for use in multiple entity/franchisor businesses and in any recurring revenue business model. For franchise businesses, 2CP’s Real-Time Processing solution handles payment processing with the same multiple business entity management approach that Intacct supports. The Real-Time Processing solution allows the franchisor to have a “look-down” into each franchisee’s payments processing and manage back-office accounts receivable for them. In addition, it eliminates the need for costly and time consuming accounting methods by automatically billing credit cards and posting payments to open invoices in Intacct. It also automatically deposits funds into each franchisee’s bank account, eliminating the need for the franchisor to handle the franchisee’s cash.

For businesses using a recurring revenue model, 2CP’s Recurring-Billing Processing solution automatically looks for invoices created in Intacct using Intacct’s recurring schedule template

Following the break-up of the Bell Systems

Following the break-up of the Bell Systems on January 1, 1984, telecommunications changed forever and continues to change. While some jobs were created, many jobs were lost forever. The build-up of the internet and the dotcom revolution was followed by the dotcom bust and again many jobs were lost. More recently, the airline industry has been hit hard with bankruptcies, jobs losses and reduced pay and benefits for the remaining employees. Is any industry immune to massive jobs losses, bankruptcies, loss of benefits and reduced pay for employees who remain? In simple terms the answer is ?no?.

The farmers became the factory workers who morphed into the white and blue collar workers who in turn became the information workers. While there are plenty of products you and I need every day: cars, shirts, food, gasoline, computers, light bulbs, desks ? the list is literally endless ? most are made, assembled or processed outside of the U.S. They are sold here. We buy them here with our hard earned dollars but someone else, who generally makes much less than you or I and who either has no benefits or has their benefits provided by their government does all the work to make the products we enjoy every day.

Now, when Microsoft purchased

Now, when Microsoft purchased GPS ? the actuality of being Graphics and DB independent vanished and Microsoft Dynamics GP is available for on Windows only and for MS SQL Server 2000/2005.

? Technical FAQ. The most popular question was and still is ? how to delete user who is hung up in Great Plains. Here is the answer: delete activity where userid=?jorge? ? run this statement against DYNAMICS DB and replace Jorge with actual user id in Great Plains. Second question by popularity is how to unlock hanging batch: update SY00500 set ? then before you design it ? look at the other ?good? batches and check which is their batch status field ? change batch status field to zero for the problem batch ? SY00500 is in the Company database. If the crash was to severe ? you need to clear SY00800 table as well ? this one sits in DYNAMICS database.

? Customizations. Even if you as the developer have now more options: eConnect, advanced tools in Integrations Manager, Visual Studio.Net with eConnect extensions and web services exposed eConnect methods ? we still expect high demand for Microsoft Dexterity customizations and Dexterity development.

The students had just finished creating drawing

The students had just finished creating drawing for city plans thus tying together as a capstone the aim of the project. Mr. Safdie emphasized ethics in architecture as the vision for the future. At the close of his lecture students were invited to ask questions and did so with eagerness to learn. The day?s program was a rich and meaningful experience for all the students.

I was born and raised on the south side of Chicago in Hyde Park Township, near the University of Chicago. As I child I was always drawing and painting. My father owned an art supply company, Favor Ruhl & Watson, where I was able to get all that I needed to progress in my work.

I have always enjoyed portraiture and landscape painting. In High School (Naperville Central High School) I took Drafting from Mr. Pierce. I quickly grasped the principles of perspective and drafting and hence made a career with both Fine Art and Architectural Renderings.

In the mid 1970′s I joined the US Navy and was stationed on board the USS Midway, CV-41.

In order to

In order to become a responsible Great Dane breeder, there are certain responsibilities that you must accept. These responsibilities will protect your Great Danes and his/her puppies, as well as identify you as a reputable breeder.

Excellent Great Dane Dog Breeders DO:

Carefully screen each person and their household who wish to purchase a puppy.

Advise and suggest different methods of caring for the Great Dane puppy in every aspect, including: diet, exercise, documentation of lineage, health, knowledge of genetics, any history of illness (genetic or non-genetic).

Not sell their Great Dane puppies in a pet shop or pet-auction

Do not sell multiple breeds of dogs. If you are a Great Dane breeder, stick to Great Danes.

Involve themselves in the showing of purebred Great Danes and are very knowledgeable about the breed.

Keep the puppies as house pets until they are ready for their homes. This ensures that your Great Dane?s offspring will make wonderful pets too.

Test dogs for all diseases and proper examination prior to breeding, such as: Brucellosis, CERF (Canine Eye Registry Foundation), OFA (Hip X-Ray Certification), PENN-HIP (hip-joint laxity).

Provide full, lifetime guarantees covering genetic disease and temperament problems.
